At St. Luke’s we continually say we are blessed—and truly we are. The recent devastation in
Haiti has been a shock to all of us. The earthquakes have left 3 million people in need of
food, water, medical care and housing. What should not come as shock to you is our desire
to help.

In response to these recent earthquakes, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and School, in
conjunction with Volunteers of America Southeast, are coordinating efforts to provide much
needed provisions to the children of a Haitian orphanage and its neighboring families. God's
Littlest Angels is located just 3 miles from downtown Port-au-Prince in the mountains above
Pétion-Ville, close to the village of Fermathe. The majority of the children brought to the
orphanage are between the ages of newborn and 7 years old.

Nurses at the orphanage have provided the following list of items they are specifically in
need of:
  • Powdered baby formula
  • Diapers
  • Baby wipes
  • Baby cereal
  • Infant Tylenol
  • Infant and children’s vitamins
  • Baby care items such as lotion, powder, baby shampoo.

They are also requesting donations to assist the surrounding community:
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Sugar
  • Oil
  • Household items
  • Blankets and towels
  • Tents
  • Tarps
  • Medical supplies
  • Hygiene items (such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc)

Please help us help them. Donations are being accepted at either office of St. Luke’s
Episcopal School until
Tuesday, February 9th. All items will be shipped directly to Haiti from
Mobile through Volunteers of America. If you would prefer to make a financial contribution
your check may be made payable to Volunteers of America – Haiti’s Children. One hundred
percent of financial contributions will be used to provide relief and ongoing help for Haiti’s
Children.

Thank you, in advance, for your support. We are confident that together we can lessen the
devastation caused by this disaster.
